These days Nicola Mincione, Partner & Chief Creative Director, and Marco Corvasce, Designer, are in Mexico at the invitation of Licorera del Sur, one of the main local producers of spirits and a client of RBA Design for about two years.
The trip stems from the desire to strengthen a collaboration that has led to the development of several branding and packaging design projects in recent years. It will also be an opportunity to visit the Licorera del Sur production plant, get a close look at the Mexican spirits market, and explore some of the country’s most representative categories, such as tequila and mezcal.
Over the last two years we have supported Licorera del Sur in several design projects dedicated to the world of spirits, particularly whisky and vodka, helping build a more distinctive image for some of its products, designed to offer a premium experience at a competitive price.
Among the most recent projects developed together is Molotoff, a vodka for which we handled the rebranding, packaging redesign and shape design. The work covered every element of the product's identity: from redrawing the logo to designing a custom bottle with a new glass shape and a tactile flame texture wrapping around its surface. A distinctive sign that continues in the phoenix above the logo, drawn using the same shapes as the flames.
For us, every project is also an opportunity to get to know the market, the people and the culture behind a brand more closely. It is from this exchange that the strongest collaborations and the best ideas are born.
Have a great trip and good work, Nicola and Marco!
